- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced a new peanut revenue policy that will be available for eligible peanut producers in 2015. View press release.

- The Georgia Peanut Commission is urging all farmers to take action on a recent letter received from the Farm Service Agency (FSA) asking for verification of a farm’s acreage history. Failure to review the letter and respond could potentially mean a loss of any potential funds available for farmers. View press release.

- At the Southern Peanut Growers Conference in Panama City, Florida, the National Center for Peanut Competitiveness (NCPC) officially launched the “Preliminary Base Acreage and Payment Yields Decision Calculator.” The NCPC developed the calculator to assist producers in developing farm strategies and decisions based on their individual needs.

2014 GPC Reseach Reports

The Georgia Peanut Commission awarded $318,780 to peanut research facilities in the state during 2014. This effort funds 28 research projects from the University of Georgia and the USDA Agricultural Research Service. View the reports.

2015 UGA Peanut Update

The University of Georgia Peanut Team produces a Peanut Update every year for growers. The update provides information for the 2015 production season focusing on marketing, replant decisions, peanut breeding, insect management, disease update, Peanut Rx and weed control. The Georgia Peanut Commission will be celebrating National Peanut Month in March by hosting the PB&J Day, March 3, 2015, at the State Capitol. Attendees will have an array of samples from PB&J's, Grilled PB&J's, Hardy Farms Boiled Peanuts, Fried Georgia Peanuts, peanut candy products and more.
